Time To Wake Up Again

the soundtrack to my life right now is this Funk Flex July 4th mix he did in NYC...5 hours of 1990s hip hop...OC, Gangstarr, Queen Latifah, Onyx, Wu, Boot Camp...pure bliss for a 90s baby such as myself.

anyway...this city my "career" has placed me in is getting better. God don't make mistakes (and as cliche as it sounds, it's 100% true) so I'm just trying to rest in Him & go wherever He wants me to go, do whatever He wants me to do, and meet whoever He wants me to meet. i've met some incredible people that continually teach me things about my life, and just life in general.

now that that's out of the way...the music

i can't help but feel a little pissed off...music wise. no this isn't another "deMIC hates the industry" rant, i just feel like we're out of touch with our audience. and we know our audience is out there. and most of the time when i'm like "hey did you hear our new music", they're still playing the "Effect Anthem" or "Who Else But Us"...those were REALLY warm-up records to be honest with you. myself & Ca$h were just building our chemistry up. now that it's at a full force (it's even stronger since i left the country) it's been a prime time for some incredible music. All Angles is so heavy right now, it's ridiculous. (here i go using Funk Flex slang...)

and once again, word to Phonte, Pooh & 9th Wondra...n**gas ain't listenin' (aluminum shoelaces!!!)

for a minute, i sat back & complained. until i realized i really wasn't doing everything that i can. i'm in another prime location where ears are open & hearts are desiring something different than the norm. i keep telling you rappers, the public aint as stupid as you think. if you remain true to yourself, there's a fanbase for you. i mean, Just Blaze is a NERD...Star Wars fan, a video game junkie, a tech head...but he's true to himself, and at the end of the day he's our generation's greatest producer.

so here we go...

August 25th...holla @ me, praise Jesus i've got a show. i haven't been on stage in 10 months, i'm dying right now. and with that, i'ma start it back up.
