as 2007 draws to a close, there is proof that God doesn't operate in days, weeks, months & years, but seasons. and He continues to reveal things to me.

it's crazy, how things can change overnight. one day you've got a million friends, by the time the sun sets you've got 3. snakes shed their skin, blood hits air & it's color instantly changes. SO QUICKLY, WE DON'T EVEN SEE WHAT IT'S ORIGINAL COLOR...

this ain't no "I will survive" post, i'm just very shocked by a lot of people & their actions. i thought that people were only around to watch you fall. i see now that it's even WORSE when you rise (no homo). countless nights that i've spent in prayer, in tears, sleepless, you name it, it's finally coming to fruition & i've got the "armond ain't ish" brigade throwing a parade downtown.

i wonder nowadays why i end up being so cynical. as a Christian, to have no hope in humanity should be morally wrong right?? but it's like, if somebody is walking around with a gun in broad daylight offing random people, i'm correct to assume he's a killer right??? so if man continues to prove that my cynicism is justified, should i even TRY to change it??

no wonder i have a writer's block...if the number 8 represents new beginnings...i'm in for it...

A father in the Roseville section of Sacramento, Ca. was shocked to discover explicit music from the Diplomats on a Disney Channel Hits CD that was supposed to contain music from Hannah Montana and High School Musical. According to CBS 13, Jeremy Danielson purchased the CD for his daughter at a local Toys R Us store, but received quite a surprise when his family opened it up on Christmas morning. “It was definitely not Hannah Montana, it was like graphic lyrics, like gangsta rap,” Danielson told a reporter. “Real explicit lyrics, sexual content, just stuff you don’t want your little kids to hear.” In a video report posted on the CBS website, the song “I Love You” from the first Diplomats group album, Diplomatic Immunity, can clearly be heard playing in the background. “We are a Christian family and we don’t bring media like that into our house,” Danielson said. The father of three contacted the Toys R Us store where the CD was purchased, but a representative explained that they are merely the distributor and are not responsible for the product. A call made to Disney by CBS was yet to be returned.

so Loopay Fiasco's CD leaked online yesterday. personally i haven't listened to it yet, i'm waiting until next week when i actually buy the cd (*gasp* people still do that) to have my 1st listen.

HOWEVER...this song has caused such an uproar i had to hear it. it's called "Hip Hop Saved My Life", he says he made it as a dedication to Houston MCs, but really, if you're an aspiring artist, it hits home.



especially when he says:

edit, my response to someone saying it's only entertainment:
nah it's not "so what"...you may say at the end of the day it's entertainment, but it's kids that really think these rappers live that life...

then when Imus popped off & everybody blamed rap, y'all got mad...why?? not everybody looks at rap as entertainment, a lot of people REALLY believe what these cats say...

it's the very reason why 50 has to change his song to "I Still Will" to get burn on MTV, YET there's a rock group called "The Killers"...who do you believe is really gonna kill you, a big black dude posing in pictures with vests pointing guns, or a bunch of skinny white dudes with guitars,

shoot, it's even adults...i dunno how many random hip hop conversations i've had with GROWN MEN where the topic is "who's real" & "who would body who"...lyrics ain't important no more to the general consensus. like the kids say "it sounds good", we're willing to overlook a lot for a hot beat & something catchy to sing along with

i support dude going to the kids, he's not acting holier than thou, if he was he would just say "this is wrong, stop doing this or you're going to Hell" without hearing the kids out...

while i do believe the Christian community needs to take a better approach to hip hop, this is a pretty good start

most of us work monday-friday, early in the morning to mid-evening. we desire to have a day off, maybe even a week...i've had almsot 21.

i'm BORED!!!!!!!

you don't know what you've got til it's gone. that's usually reserved for breakups & death, right?? imagine losing your dominant hand...simple things like putting a belt on are impossible, trying to hold a bag from Subway causes your hand to shake, writing rhymes??? yeah right...i tried to use the blackberry and text them but it's not the same. IT'S NOT THE SAME!!!!!

they had to stick a pin in my 4th finger & 2 pins in my pinky fangah. one of the pins is actually sticking out of my hand. i can feel it. i'll be in a cast for 6 weeks. i have to sleep with my arm in the air, and do the same when i take a shower cuz i can't get this temporary cast/splint wet.

update on Monday when i get my other cast

let me just clear this up right now...while i have the energy. matter fact, let me backtrack first...

chances are, you knew me as epideMIC. in addition, you knew the music that came along with it. it was disrespectful, blasphemous, & flat out embarassing. yes, i was talented, that is undeniable. however, my intentions were facing the wrong direction. money, women & fame were my motivators.

when one dedicates their life to Christ he is made a new creature. although the newer songs are more positive, i was still carrying the baggage from this epideMIC name. so after praying on it, i've let it go. the only reason i have anything epideMIC now is to help the older fans transition.

so why go by my gov't?? basically, there's no difference. there's no persona, no mask, or anything that i need to put on when i step on the stage or walk in the booth. not to say every song i create is about me, but it is relevant to my life and the lives of my fans. so in order for me to be all the way honest with you, i gotta take the mask off...
